This Taurus TX 22 is a full-size, striker-fired .22 LR pistol built with a hard-anodized aluminum slide over a polymer frame and an alloy-steel 4-inch barrel. Introduced at SHOT Show 2019 and named Guns & Ammo's 2019 Handgun of the Year, it features an integral MIL-STD-1913 accessory rail, front and rear slide serrations, and an adjustable rear sight.

The TX 22 uses a blowback, striker-fired system with a single-action trigger. Safety hardware includes an ambidextrous manual safety, a trigger safety, and a striker block. Capacity is 10+1 rounds in .22 LR.
Construction pairs a hard-anodized aluminum slide with a black polymer frame and an alloy-steel barrel. Front and rear slide serrations aid manipulation, and the ejection port is marked ".22 LR."
Sights are open and practical: a fixed blade front and a screw-adjustable rear with a top elevation screw and a lateral set screw for windage. This setup allows precise zeroing with common rimfire loads.
The dustcover incorporates an integral MIL-STD-1913 accessory rail with a single slot for mounting compatible lights or accessories. A serial number plate with a QR matrix is set into the dustcover. This example is the TX 22 series, manufacturer part number 1-TX22141, finished in black.
