This Smith & Wesson Model 500 with the Interchangeable Compensator system is built on the X-Frame and chambered in 500 S&W Magnum. It features an 8.38 in heavy barrel with a full underlug and integral rib, a satin stainless finish, and a 5-shot fluted cylinder. Introduced in 2003 alongside the 500 S&W Magnum, this model was noted as the most powerful production handgun at launch. It is drilled and tapped for a scope base and comes with its factory case, manual, and a spare compensator.

Built on S&W's extra-large X-Frame, this revolver is purpose-built for the 500 S&W Magnum. The 5-shot fluted cylinder, double-action/single-action operation, and internal key lock reflect the robust, modern S&W design ethos for high-pressure magnum use.
The 8.38 in heavy-profile barrel incorporates a full underlug and integral rib for strength and balance. Its interchangeable compensator system helps manage recoil and muzzle rise, and this example includes a spare compensator in the case.
Sighting is fast and precise with a HI-VIZ red fiber-optic front on a pinned base and a fully adjustable rear sight. The topstrap is drilled and tapped, with a visible plugged screw hole ahead of the rear sight, to accept a scope base if desired.
Construction is all stainless steel with a uniform satin finish across the frame, barrel, cylinder, and receiver. Black synthetic finger-groove grips with S&W medallions provide a secure hold.
