Made in China and imported by Labanu Inc. of Ronkonkoma, NY, this SKS Sporter represents the factory AK‑magazine configuration of the SKS platform. It is often described as an "AK magazine conversion" style variant, and this example includes a detachable 30-round steel AK-pattern magazine.
The rifle uses the traditional SKS long-stroke gas system with a tilting-bolt, paired with a 16.5-inch barrel capped by a short multi-port muzzle brake. The capacity is 30+1 with the included magazine.
Its blonde hardwood thumbhole/Monte Carlo stock includes textured grip panels at the wrist and a rubber buttpad. Length of pull is 14.5 inches. Sling attachment points include a loop on the barrel band and a side-sling inlet at the butt. The wooden upper handguard has three ventilation slots per side.
Sighting is via a tangent rear sight with meter graduations and a hooded front post. Markings include "SKS SPORTER 7.62X39," "MADE IN CHINA BY NORINCO," and "LABANU INC. RONKONKOMA NY." The receiver and bolt carrier have matching serial suffixes.
