This Taurus 850 is a small-frame, five-shot .38 Special revolver built with an all-steel, matte stainless finish and a 3" barrel with a full underlug. It uses a double-action-only system with an internal, spurless hammer and a smooth-faced trigger, combining streamlined handling with durable construction. Fixed sights include a pinned, serrated ramp front and an integral trench rear.

The 3" barrel with a full underlug provides a steady sight radius and adds forward balance. The front sight is cross-pinned, allowing removal or replacement, and pairs with an integral trench rear for a clean, snag-resistant sight picture.
This DAO configuration features an internal, spurless hammer and a smooth-faced trigger for consistent double-action strokes. The cylinder shows shallow flutes, and operation is supported by a checkered cylinder-release latch and a knurled ejector-rod tip.
Construction is all steel with a uniform matte stainless finish across the frame, cylinder, and receiver. The wraparound black rubber grip offers a secure, hand-filling hold on the small frame.
Markings include model designation "850" on the frame and caliber "38 SPL*" on the barrel. The crane/yoke is stamped "130 I." Proofs and import marks include "Taurus Int’l Mfg Bainbridge, GA" and "Taurus Armas Made in Brazil."
