The VZ2008 Sporter follows the proven vz.58 pattern, using a milled receiver and a ribbed removable top cover. Its short-stroke gas system with a tilting locking block is paired with a last-round bolt hold-open, offering the handling cues and manual of arms vz.58 users expect. A manual safety is fitted.
The 16.25-inch barrel is threaded and fitted with an open multi-prong muzzle device. Sighting is via a tangent rear sight with a sliding elevation notch and a protected front sight post, giving a clear, durable iron-sight picture. A bayonet lug sits under the front sight base.
Furniture is the classic brown marbled phenolic set—fixed stock, vz.58-pattern handguards, and matching pistol grip—often recognized for its distinctive look and durability. Sling mounting is provided by a front sling ring at the gas block and a rear sling swivel on the stock. Length of pull measures 12.5 inches.
The rifle uses the proprietary vz.58 magazine interface (not AK-pattern) and includes five 30-round magazines.
