The HD-series steel frame and full-size 2011 platform deliver a robust foundation, paired with a captured flat-wire recoil spring assembly and an external extractor. The slide is marked "STACCATO ★ P4.5" with "20★11 HD" and includes forward cocking and top serrations with side relief cuts for positive manipulation.
The 4.5 inch barrel uses a bushingless profile and an integral sight block that houses a tall front sight with a green insert. Sighting is configured via the HOST optics cut, and this pistol includes the Staccato HOST plate for Trijicon RMR HD/SRO (plate 846).
Controls include ambidextrous manual thumb safeties, ambidextrous slide stops, and a reversible magazine release. The HD series omits the grip safety while retaining a Series-80–style firing-pin block. A skeletonized, flat-faced trigger and an installed bronze/tan aftermarket magazine-well funnel support fast, consistent operation.
The polymer grip module has an aggressive texture with the Staccato star logo, and the dust cover integrates a Picatinny accessory rail with five slots. This model is manufactured in Florence, Texas, USA, and is noted as compatible with Staccato/2011-pattern double-stack 9mm magazines.
