The USP45 Variant 1 configuration provides a DA/SA trigger with a left-side frame-mounted safety/decocker, paired with an external spurred hammer. The ambidextrous paddle-style magazine release allows quick, intuitive operation with either hand.
Its 4.41 in cold-hammer-forged barrel uses polygonal rifling, and the steel slide wears HK's Hostile Environment nitrocarburized finish in black. The USP's patented recoil-reduction system is integrated into the design.
The full-size glass-fiber-reinforced polymer frame is finished in taupe, with textured polymer grips molded with the USP logo. A proprietary USP accessory rail is molded into the dust cover for compatible accessories.
Sighting is via fixed 3-dot irons, with a white-dot front blade and a windage-adjustable rear. The pistol is marked with German/CIP proofs including "DE" and carries the HKI Columbus, GA import mark. Capacity is 12+1 with the included double-stack magazines.
