Product Description

Colt Model 1908 Vest Pocket .25 ACP (1922) Micro Pistol, 2 in Barrel, Steel Frame

This 1922 Colt Model 1908 Vest Pocket is a compact, all-steel .25 ACP pistol designed by John M. Browning and derived from the FN 1906. Also known as the Model N, it features the notable triple-safety system and classic Colt markings, including the rampant horse on the slide and the post-1917 patent legend. Its micro size, 2-inch barrel, and integral fixed sights reflect the original pocket-carry concept that defined the model.

    Condition

Overall Condition: Fair condition, showing extensive signs of prior use and handling.

Bore Condition: Fair - Generally clean, some residue or smudges, slight corrosion.

Bore Rifling: Fair Rifling - Worn rifling, slight loss of definition.

Specific Condition Notes: The left grip panel is broken. There is spotty surface pitting on the frame and slide. The original finish has thinned and aged to a gray-brown patina.

    What’s Included

    • Colt Model 1908 Vest Pocket pistol
    • 1x 6-round single-column magazine with circular witness holes and flat base

Built on an all-steel slide and frame, this Model 1908 Vest Pocket is a striker-fired, blowback-operated pistol in .25 ACP with a 2-inch barrel. Its micro size and streamlined profile were purpose-built for discreet carry during its era.

Safety is a core feature of this design, with a triple-safety system that includes a manual safety, a grip safety, and a magazine disconnect safety. This configuration reflects Browning’s intent to provide multiple, redundant safeguards in a compact sidearm.

The slide wears vertical rear serrations and period-correct markings, including the Colt rampant horse at the left rear. The post-1917 slide legend includes the July 31, 1917 patent date, aligning with this pistol’s 1922 production.

Sighting is via integral fixed iron sights with a small front blade and a rear notch/trench. The checkered black hard rubber grips carry the COLT banner and rampant Colt, while the included single-column magazine holds six rounds and features circular witness holes with a flat base.
