The VEPR-12 uses a gas-operated, rotating-bolt system built into a reinforced RPK-style 1.5 mm stamped-steel receiver. The receiver is marked "VEPR-12 Molot" and "12x76" and carries import markings for WPA Anaheim, CA, with manufacturer marks from MOLOT-ORUZHIE LTD., Vyatskie Polyany, Russia.
The 19-inch barrel is chrome-lined and threaded, and the chamber is marked 12x76 (3"). Capacity is 10+1, and this example includes two 10-round SGM Tactical magazines and one 5-round magazine.
Furniture includes a folding, skeletonized tubular-metal stock with a left-side hinge, polymer cheek rest, and polymer buttpad, plus an ergonomic polymer pistol grip and ribbed polymer handguard. A sling loop is positioned at the stock hinge.
Sighting equipment consists of a protected front post and an AK/RPK-style adjustable tangent rear.
