This custom SSK-50 is a modernized take on the classic Thompson/Center Contender, built on SSK Firearms' stainless Lynx-logo receiver and paired with a blued Thompson/Center Arms 10 in .44 Magnum Contender barrel. It features high-gloss hardwood target furniture with a long beavertail forend, iron sights, and the familiar break-open, single-shot action. Cross-compatibility with legacy Contender and G2 barrels adds practical flexibility; pistol grips and buttstocks must be Contender-pattern (G2 pistol grips and buttstocks do not fit).
Condition
Overall Condition: Very good condition, showing only light, superficial signs of prior handling or use.
Bore Overall Condition: Excellent - Clean, mirror finish, no signs of wear.
Bore Rifling: Excellent Rifling - Sharp lands and grooves.
Specific Condition Notes: Minor superficial handling marks are present on the metal and wood. The finishes remain crisp and well cared for. The bore is bright with a reflective sheen.

Built on the Contender-pattern SSK-50 stainless frame, this Lynx-logo variant retains the hallmark break-open design with the trigger guard serving as the action-opening lever. The external hammer uses a hammer-mounted firing pin selector with a safe center detent and a red index dot indicator.
The fitted Thompson/Center Arms 10 in .44 Magnum Contender barrel has a round, tapered profile and is marked 'THOMPSON/CENTER ARMS' and '.44 MAG'. Sighting is straightforward with a ramped front blade and a fully adjustable rear notch on a barrel-mounted base. Capacity is 1 round.
High-gloss hardwood furniture is installed, including a target-style pistol grip with finger grooves and a black grip cap, plus a long beavertail forend that provides a stable handhold. The full-size stainless frame wears a matte/satin finish for a subdued, utilitarian look.
A laser-engraved lynx head on the left side of the frame identifies this Lynx-logo receiver. The Contender-pattern architecture ensures cross-compatibility with legacy Contender and G2 barrels, offering an easy path to caliber and configuration changes using widely available components. Pistol grips and buttstocks are Contender-pattern only; G2 stocks do not fit. Forends follow the barrel used.
