The action is semi-automatic, hammer-fired DA/SA with an exposed spurred hammer and second-strike capability. Ambidextrous controls include the slide stop and a 3-position manual safety/decocker. Safety systems include a firing-pin block, a loaded-chamber indicator, and the Taurus Security System (key lock).
Sighting is straightforward and durable: fixed 3-dot steel sights in dovetails with a drift-adjustable rear secured by a setscrew. The 5.17 in sight radius supports a clear sight picture. Front and rear diagonal cocking serrations aid slide manipulation.
Ergonomics are addressed with a textured grip and interchangeable backstraps. An integral 2-slot Picatinny/MIL-STD-1913 rail on the dustcover supports rail-mounted accessories.
