The 629-4 Classic pairs stainless steel N-frame construction with a 6.5 inch heavy barrel, full-length underlug, serrated top rib, and an ejector rod shroud. The six-shot fluted cylinder and satin stainless finish complete a durable, purpose-built .44 Magnum configuration.
This dash-4 variant retains pre-MIM forged, case-hardened hammer and trigger components and a hammer-mounted firing pin. The action is double-action/single-action with a smooth-face trigger. The yoke cut is marked MOD 629-4, and the barrel is roll-marked 629 Classic.
Factory sights include a pinned, ramped front sight with an orange/red insert and an adjustable rear sight. The topstrap is factory drilled and tapped under the rear sight for optics mounts, a feature associated with the -4 engineering change.
Aftermarket Crimson Trace rubber lasergrips are installed, adding a modern grip set to the Classic configuration. The revolver bears the "MADE IN U.S.A. SPRINGFIELD, MASS." marking and was manufactured in the United States.
