The receiver is steel with a flat dark earth (tan) finish and is roll-marked BARRETT with the Model 82A1 designation. A perforated, ventilated forend with oval cooling slots aids heat dissipation, while two sling loops and rear transport/takedown rings provide practical carry and handling options.
A full-length, 23-inch T-marked M1913 Picatinny top rail with 27 MOA of cant spans the receiver and forend for mounting solutions.
