The Rival-S Dark Side is the black-finished, steel-frame variant of Canik’s full-size SFx series chambered in 9mm Luger. It features a 5-inch barrel and a 20+1 capacity, pairing competition-oriented performance with a durable all-steel build.
The slide is cut for optics and ships with the Canik R02 adapter plate installed. Front and rear serrations and lightening windows aid manipulation and balance, while a fiber-optic red front sight provides a clear sight picture; rear iron sight configuration may vary depending on the optics setup.
Controls are well thought out: an ambidextrous slide stop, a reversible, length-adjustable magazine release, and a flared magazine well support fast, confident handling. A MIL-STD-1913 accessory rail is integrated into the dust cover.
The striker-fired system uses a flat-faced aluminum trigger with a 90-degree break, short pre-travel, and a short reset, plus a trigger safety. This model is imported by Century Arms and is marked accordingly; the case label is dated 03/07/24. The SFx Rival-S platform earned the 2023 Industry Choice Awards Handgun of the Year.
