The SAM7R platform is built around a forged and milled steel receiver with the long lightening cut, providing the signature Bulgarian construction. Markings include Arsenal Las Vegas, U.S.A. import information, Made in Bulgaria, and the Bulgarian Factory ((10)) double-circle stamp.
The 16.3-inch barrel is chrome-lined and cold hammer-forged for durability. It is threaded. The rifle uses a long-stroke gas piston with a rotating bolt and is chambered in 7.62x39 with a 30+1 capacity.
Up front, an SLR Rifleworks 9.45 M-LOK aluminum handguard and railed gas-tube cover provide modern mounting real estate, complemented by a low-profile hand stop. A hinged railed dust cover bridges to the gas tube and handguard to create a continuous Picatinny top rail while retaining the original front sight tower; the traditional rear sight position is covered by the rail.
The stock configuration features a Midwest Industries side-folding adjustable stock with an adjustable buttpad and cheek element, set with a 13.0-inch length of pull. The rifle also includes an AK side-optic rail on the receiver and a black polymer pistol grip.
