The USP Compact Stainless delivers a clean two-tone look with a stainless slide over a black polymer frame. Chambered in .45 ACP, it uses a 3.78 in cold-hammer-forged barrel with polygonal rifling and fixed 3-dot sights, with the rear blade marked TRU DOT.
Variant 1 controls place a combined manual safety/decocker on the left side, allowing both cocked-and-locked carry or safe decocking to double-action. The DA/SA, hammer-fired system includes an exposed, spurred hammer for positive control.
User-friendly features include an ambidextrous paddle-style magazine release and HK's proprietary compact accessory rail on the dust cover. The compact recoil system employs a flat spring with a synthetic buffer.
German manufacture and markings are present, including the eagle/N nitro proof, Ulm antler proof, AB date code, and the Heckler & Koch INC – Sterling, VA import mark.
