The IC-DI uses LWRCI's direct-impingement system paired with a proprietary nickel-boron bolt carrier that integrates a keyless gas key. The monoforge one-piece upper provides precise alignment and robust construction, while the lower features fully ambidextrous bolt catch/release and magazine release, plus an ambidextrous safety selector.
The 16-inch barrel is cold-hammer-forged, spiral-fluted, and NiCorr-treated. It uses a mid-length DI gas system and a 1:7 RH twist to stabilize a wide range of 5.56mm projectiles. The muzzle is threaded 1/2-28 and comes with a thread protector installed.
LWRCI's modular free-float handguard and a full-length T-numbered Picatinny top rail span the receiver and handguard, offering a continuous mounting surface for sights and accessories. The rifle retains LWRCI's Type III hard-coat anodized receiver finish for durability.
This rifle arrives in a state-compliant configuration with a featureless fin-style grip, a 10-round magazine, and a stock set to be non-adjustable. The stock retains its QD sling mount and textured buttpad, and length of pull measures 13.0 inches. Factory markings include "LWRC INTERNATIONAL M6IC," "5.56mm NATO," and "CAMBRIDGE, MD U.S.A." on the receiver, with the upper marked "IC-DI 5.56mm • MADE IN THE U.S.A." and LWRC logo. Pictogram selector markings and a 2D/QR data plate on the magwell are present.
