The brass receiver and brass buttplate carry a polished finish that pairs cleanly with smooth walnut furniture. The stock features a pistol-style butt capped by a brass buttplate, and a matching walnut forend completes the classic Big Boy look. An external hammer and large-loop lever support confident manipulation.
The compact 12.9-inch blued-steel octagon barrel contributes to the Mare's Leg profile while keeping overall length to approximately 25 inches and weight to about 5.79 lb. Barrel markings read "HENRY REPEATING ARMS - BAYONNE, NJ - MADE IN USA" and "CALIBER .357 MAG. / .38 SPL."
Feeding is through a 5-round under-barrel tubular magazine with a knurled end-cap, providing a 5+1 capacity. This is the earlier configuration without a side loading gate and uses right-side ejection. A transfer-bar safety is incorporated for secure carry.
Target acquisition is straightforward with the adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sight featuring a diamond insert and a brass-bead front sight. A saddle ring on the left side of the receiver adds a period-correct touch and carry option. The serial prefix BBML denotes the Mare's Leg series.
