The SIG716 Patrol operates via a semi-automatic, short-stroke gas piston system with an adjustable gas regulator, pairing .308 Win power with a piston-driven layout. AR-10–pattern upper and lower receivers and a standard magazine release maintain familiar controls while accepting SR-25/AR-10 pattern magazines.
Its 16-inch, free-floating, threaded barrel uses a 1:10 twist to stabilize common .308 projectiles. A multi-chamber muzzle brake/compensator is installed, and the bore condition is excellent.
The rifle is outfitted with a Lancer carbon-fiber free-float handguard. The receiver carries a Picatinny top rail with T-mark index numbers, while the handguard’s top is mostly smooth with short bolt-on Picatinny sections near the receiver—there is not a continuous, full-length rail. A short Picatinny accessory section is installed on the handguard, and folding front and rear backup iron sights are included.
Controls and furniture include a two-position safety selector, ERGO rubberized pistol grip, SIG SAUER-branded collapsible carbine stock, and a Magpul QD sling swivel mounted to the stock. The aluminum-alloy receivers feature a hard-anodized finish, forward assist, ejection-port dust cover, and shell deflector. Made in the USA.
