The M&P-15 platform combines a direct-impingement action with a carbine-length gas system for a familiar AR-15 operating setup. Receivers are aluminum alloy with a matte black finish, and the right side carries a prominent M&P 15 rollmark.
The 16-inch steel barrel uses a 1:9 twist and is threaded, capped with an A2-style flash suppressor. Chambered in 5.56mm NATO with a stated capacity of 30+1, it suits standard AR-pattern magazines, four of which are included.
On top, a flat-top upper provides an S&W-marked, T-marked Picatinny rail (T4–T12) for precise slot reference. The rifle is equipped with a forward assist and an ejection-port dust cover. Sighting is handled by an A2 front sight tower with bayonet lug and sling swivel, paired with a polymer flip-up rear aperture sight.
Furniture includes a carbine-length two-piece polymer handguard, an A2-style pistol grip, and a 6-position collapsible polymer stock with the S&W logo molded into the buttstock. Length of pull ranges from 10 to 13.5 inches. The rifle is finished in matte black and is made in the USA.
