Made in Finland and imported into the United States by Ithaca Gun Company, the LSA-55 is essentially the export-designated version of Tikka’s M55. This rifle carries the correct LSA-55 and import markings, along with the Bofors barrel steel callout that collectors and shooters look for from this period.
The rifle features a 22 in sporter barrel chambered in .243 Win, paired to a right-hand bolt with a round knurled knob, a recessed bolt face, plunger ejector, and a small extractor. The top-mounted safety and adjustable single-stage trigger provide a clean, straightforward operating setup.
Its deluxe walnut stock showcases Monte Carlo-style geometry and period-correct embellishments: skip-line checkering, contrasting fore-end tip and grip cap, white-line spacers, sling-swivel studs, and a rubber buttplate. Despite the forend damage noted in the condition section, the deluxe features remain evident.
The receiver uses an integral dovetail and is set up without open sights. TIKKA-marked 1-inch rings are fitted, ready for the buyer’s choice of compatible optic. The rifle was designed for a detachable box magazine; none is installed, and capacity is currently 1 round.
Proofs and markings include LSA-55 receiver marking, CAL .243 WIN, and the import legend "ITHACA GUN CO. INC., ITHACA N.Y. MADE IN FINLAND," along with "BOFORS BARREL STEEL," aligning it with late 1960s–1970s Tikka/Ithaca collaboration production.
