The steel receiver is the solid-top, side-eject pattern and is drilled and tapped for optics. Rollmarked THE MARLIN FIREARMS CO., ILION, NEW YORK, U.S.A., it also carries a P proof/inspection stamp on the barrel. The MR-prefix serial range places it within the Remington/Ilion production era.
The 22 in round-profile steel barrel ends in a plain, non-threaded muzzle with a recessed crown. The bore condition is excellent, and the rifling is sharp. This is the standard blue/walnut 1895 configuration with a half-length tubular magazine for a 4+1 capacity.
Furniture consists of a straight-grip walnut stock and matching walnut forend retained by a forearm cap, both with checkering for a secure hold. A rubber recoil pad and sling swivel studs are factory-style features, and the installed Butler Creek padded sling is ready for carry. Length of pull measures 13.75 in.
The rifle is customized with an aftermarket scout-style optic rail and 1-inch two-piece, horizontally split rings with removable top caps held by screws; the original factory iron sights are absent. The receiver’s drilled-and-tapped pattern and the forward rail provide flexible mounting options to suit the buyer’s preferred optic setup.
