This pre-1968 Remington Model 742 Woodsmaster in .30-06 pairs classic American hunting features with factory roll-engraved receiver panels. It has a 22-inch steel barrel, blued steel parts with an aluminum-alloy receiver showing heavy loss of its original black anodized finish (bright alloy exposed on both side panels), and checkered walnut stock and fore-end. A Weaver Pivot mount with a scope is installed, allowing swing-away access to the open sights. It includes a detachable 4-round magazine stamped "30-06."

Overall Condition: Fair condition, showing extensive signs of prior use and handling.
Bore Condition: Fair - Generally clean, some residue or smudges, slight corrosion.
Bore Rifling: Good Rifling - Intact, well-defined lands and grooves.
Specific Condition Notes: The firearm is in solid shape. There are scratches and blemishes present across the bluing and wood furniture. The rifling shows blemishes but remains present. There are patches of pitting on the finish. The receiver shows heavy loss of the black anodized finish with bright alloy visible on both side panels.

The Model 742 Woodsmaster is a semi-automatic, gas-operated rifle chambered in .30-06 Springfield with a 22-inch steel barrel. It uses a detachable box magazine with a 4+1 capacity and is marked on the barrel ".30-06 SPRG." and "Made in U.S.A." Open sights include a ramped bead front and an adjustable rear leaf.
Walnut furniture features diamond-pattern checkering on the pistol-grip stock and fore-end. The length of pull is 13.0 inches. A steel checkered buttplate with the Remington logo and a white-line spacer is fitted. Sling attachments consist of a fixed rear sling loop in the buttstock and a matching front loop.
The aluminum alloy receiver was originally finished in black anodize and features factory roll-engraved hunting scenes on both side panels; the finish shows heavy wear with large bright alloy areas exposed.
A Weaver Pivot mount is installed. This swing-away design allows the scope to pivot aside for quick use of the iron sights. The scope is mounted in the pivoting rings and ready for range or field use.
