This Sig Sauer MCX-SPEAR LT is a recent-release 5.56 NATO configuration built around an 11.5-inch cold hammer-forged carbon steel barrel and a short-stroke gas piston system with a two-position adjustable gas valve. The aluminum alloy receiver set wears a coyote anodized finish, and the free-float aluminum M-LOK handguard carries a full-length 1913 Picatinny top rail. It ships with one 40-round and one 30-round Magpul PMAG Gen M3 magazine.

The operating system is Sig Sauer’s semi-automatic, short-stroke gas piston with a two-position adjustable gas valve marked with plus/minus settings. The upper includes a forward assist, case deflector, and ejection-port dust cover for duty-ready handling.
Its 11.5-inch carbon steel barrel is cold hammer forged and threaded, capped with a three-prong flash hider. The gas system components are visible through the handguard windows, allowing quick reference and maintenance checks.
Controls are fully ambidextrous, including the safety selector, magazine release, right-side bolt catch/release, and an ambidextrous charging handle with enlarged latches. A flat-blade match trigger and a flared magazine well support fast, consistent operation.
The free-float aluminum M-LOK handguard mates with a full-length 1913 Picatinny top rail spanning the receiver and handguard. The rifle features a SIG polymer pistol grip, coyote tan finish across the aluminum alloy receiver set, and clear factory markings: “SIG MCX MULTI-CALIBER” on the left magwell and “SIG SAUER INC NEWINGTON NH USA” on the right receiver.
