The No. 1 uses an under-lever operated, hammerless falling-block action with single-shot capacity. This configuration is compact and strong, with a short action profile that many shooters appreciate for its balance.
The 20 inch stainless steel barrel is factory threaded and fitted with a multi-port muzzle brake. The threaded muzzle allows the brake to be removed or replaced as desired. The barrel is paired with a stainless quarter rib for optics mounting.
Construction is all-stainless with a satin stainless finish on both barrel and receiver. The laminated hardwood stock in grey/black features a pistol-grip profile, cut checkering, sling swivel studs, and a rubber buttpad. Ruger logos are present on the receiver ring and buttpad. Length of pull measures 13.75 inches.
