This Model 63 No Dash is part of the Stainless Kit Gun series and reflects early production features prized by S&W enthusiasts. It is a six-shot .22 LR J-frame with a 4-inch pinned stainless barrel and a brushed satin stainless finish across the frame and cylinder. The fluted cylinder, DA/SA action, and quality fit and finish underscore its classic S&W build.
Sighting equipment is factory adjustable and practical. The front is a ramped blade with an orange/red insert, paired with an S&W micrometer-adjustable black square-notch rear. The topstrap and rib are serrated to reduce glare, giving a crisp sight picture well-suited to small-game and field use.
Controls and small parts are configured for confident handling. The trigger is of standard service style, and the hammer is exposed with a checkered spur. The ejector rod is unshrouded with a front lock lug, consistent with the period. The revolver wears checkered walnut Magna stocks with S&W medallions on its square-butt grip frame.
Markings are correct and clear, including the S&W trademark logo on the right-side frame; "MADE IN U.S.A. MARCAS REGISTRADAS SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD, MASS."; "SMITH & WESSON" on the left side of the barrel; ".22 LONG RIFLE CTG." on the right side of the barrel; and "MOD. 63" on the yoke cut. As an early 1980–1981 example with an M-prefix serial and a matching factory box label, it presents as a strong representative of the no-dash Model 63.
