- 1x 8-round Model 597 Magnum detachable steel magazine (marked "17 HMR 22 WMR")
- Weaver-style one-piece scope base installed on the receiver
The LS HB (Laminated Stock, Heavy Barrel) configuration pairs a grey-brown laminated hardwood stock with a heavy-profile, 20-inch barrel. The barrel is free-floated with a recessed crown and no iron sights, designed to maximize consistency once an optic is mounted. The rifle wears a matte dark gray finish.
Chambered in .17 HMR, this Model 597 Magnum feeds from an 8-round detachable steel magazine. The magazine is correctly marked "17 HMR 22 WMR," reflecting Remington’s mag body marking for the magnum-family cartridges; the rifle itself is chambered specifically for .17 HMR.
The semi-automatic blowback action uses twin tool-steel bolt guide rods for smooth operation and features a last-shot bolt hold-open. Controls are straightforward with a right-side bolt handle, right-side ejection, and a cross-bolt safety.
The laminated Monte Carlo stock provides a solid cheek weld and a 14.0-inch length of pull. Factory sling swivel studs are installed for quick attachment of a sling or bipod, and the smooth stock surface offers a clean, purpose-driven look.
Production note: The Model 597 line was introduced in 1997 and discontinued in 2019. In 2009, Remington issued a safety recall for all Model 597 rifles chambered in .17 HMR; buyers should review the manufacturer’s recall guidance.
