Mauser Karabiner 98k 8mm Mauser Sporterized Bolt-Action Rifle, WWII German Proofs, 24 Inch Barrel
This WWII-era Mauser Karabiner 98k is a heavily sporterized example built on a large-ring Model 98 action and chambered in 8mm Mauser. It retains German wartime eagle acceptance proofs and the left receiver rail marking "Mod. 98." Key modifications include a receiver drilled and tapped on the front ring and the removal of original military furniture. A practical 24 inch steel barrel, internal 5-round magazine, and the classic three-position flag safety round out a configuration that highlights the rugged M98 system. Parts are mismatched on this rifle.

What’s Included
- Sporterized Mauser Karabiner 98k bolt-action rifle (8mm Mauser)
Built on the large-ring Mauser 98 action, this rifle features the external long claw extractor and third safety lug known for controlled-round feed and strength. It retains the integral charger/stripper-clip guide on the rear bridge, a turned-down bolt handle with round knob, and an internal 5-round box magazine with a flush floorplate. The left receiver rail is marked "Mod. 98," and German wartime eagle acceptance proofs are present.
The rifle has been significantly modified from its original military configuration. The receiver is drilled and tapped on the front ring. The rear sight has been modified with components removed, and the upper handguard has been removed; the barrel bands, bayonet lug, and cleaning rod have been deleted. The fore-end has been rounded at the nose, and the front sight protective hood is not present.
Sighting equipment consists of a banded front sight with a dovetailed blade; rear sight configuration varies on this sporterized example. The stock is hardwood with grasping grooves and a recoil crossbolt, and the fore-end has a rounded profile. The action uses a three-position flag safety.
Chambered in 8mm Mauser with a 24 inch steel barrel, this sporterized K98k maintains core M98 characteristics while reflecting extensive post-service customization. Parts are mismatched, with matching numbers on the receiver and bottom metal and a mismatched bolt.
