The Rapide DN is a Government-size, non-railed 1911 chambered in 10mm with a 5-inch, TiN-coated barrel. The gold-tone barrel finish is visible through six oval lightening windows near the muzzle, three per side, giving the slide a distinctive performance look while reducing reciprocating mass.
Controls and ergonomics are set up for confident handling: a left-side thumb safety and a beavertail grip safety with a memory bump, a skeletonized commander-style hammer, and a flat-faced skeletonized trigger with lightening cuts. The frontstrap and mainspring housing are checkered, and the flared magazine well supports quick reloads.
The DN variant equips fixed day/night sights. The front sight uses a green element with an orange ring, and the rear sight is marked on top "TG-H3" for easy identification. The slide adds stepped cocking serrations at both the front and rear for secure manipulation.
The steel frame and slide wear a matte dark finish, complemented by gray/black layered G-10 grips with aggressive texture for a firm hold. External markings include "RAPIDE" with the scripted Kimber logo on the slide and "KIMBER YONKERS NY USA" on the frame.
