The 170th Anniversary treatment includes factory laser-etched details: a right-handguard crest reading 170 Zastava arms 1853–2023, a Serbian coat of arms on the buttstock, and a limited-run Anniversary M70 furniture set. The Serbian Red hardwood is thermally modified with a polyurethane finish, and the rifle retains a checkered wood pistol grip and a bottom rear sling swivel. A small 5-digit marking is present near the butt.
Core construction follows the robust M70 pattern with a stamped 1.5 mm receiver, a bulged RPK-style front trunnion, and a non-dimpled Yugoslav-pattern magazine well. The top cover is smooth, and the bolt carrier is bright in-the-white, highlighting classic Zastava production cues.
The 16.3 inch barrel is cold hammer forged and chrome lined for durability and ease of maintenance. It is threaded M14x1 LH and fitted with a short thread protector/device from the factory.
Sighting is via open irons with a front post and a tangent rear sight with a sliding leaf. The rifle uses a semi-automatic, long-stroke gas piston action and includes a manual safety/selector with a bolt hold-open notch. The fixed stock provides a 12.5 inch length of pull.
Factory marks include ZASTAVA ARMS MADE IN SERBIA and the importer stamp ZASTAVA ARMS USA DES PLAINES IL. Country of origin is Serbia, the year of manufacture is 2023, and matching serials were observed on the bolt carrier and receiver. Capacity is 30+1 with the included magazine.
