Built by Armi Chiappa in Italy, this 1853 Enfield 3-Band reproduction follows the classic infantry configuration with a 39-inch rifled steel barrel and approximately 55-inch overall length. The external hammer, percussion cap, single-shot action mirrors the original pattern for period-correct operation and handling.
The lockplate is stamped "1853 ENFIELD," and the barrel is marked "BLACK POWDER ONLY CAL .58." Proofs include the Gardone V.T. proof house star-over-crest, star over PN black-powder proof, and a boxed C.I.P. mark, confirming regulated proofing for black powder use.
Construction details include a blued barrel, color case-hardened lock and hammer, and brass furniture throughout: buttplate, trigger guard, nose cap, ramrod pipes, and oval escutcheons. The full-length wood stock features sling swivels, and the length of pull measures 13.5 inches.
Sighting equipment is true to pattern, with a block front sight and an Enfield-style flip-up ladder rear sight. The barrel uses a three-groove rifling form with a slow 1:65–1:66 twist. The serial number is located on the barrel flat at the breech.
This example includes a period-correct style 21-inch socket bayonet with locking ring and a leather scabbard fitted with a brass tip and belt frog, rounding out a complete infantry-style set.
