The MK IV/Series 70 configuration delivers the pre-Series 80 internal layout without a firing-pin safety, a feature valued by many enthusiasts for its period-correct operation. This example is chambered in .45 ACP with a 5-inch barrel and a single-stack 7+1 capacity.
The blued finish shows polished slide flats with matte rounds. The slide wears rear-only vertical serrations and a non-lowered ejection port. The barrel hood is marked "COLT .45 AUTO," consistent with Colt factory barrels of the era.
Controls and furniture include a left-side thumb safety, grip safety, and a spur hammer. The frame is steel with an arched, checkered mainspring housing and a smooth front strap. Sighting is GI-style with a staked front blade and a square-notch rear.
This pistol uses standard single-stack .45 ACP 1911-pattern magazines and comes with one 7-round Mec-Gar magazine. It was manufactured in the United States in 1981.
Accompanying the pistol is a Colt woodgrain cardboard box with a period end label indicating "GVT. MODEL MKIV 70 SERIES – .45 A.C.P – 5 INCH – BLUE," aligning with the pistol’s configuration.
