The M&P9 Shield 1.0 uses a 3.1-inch stainless barrel and a stainless slide, both treated with a durable Melonite (nitride) finish. The frame is black polymer, giving the pistol its slim, single-stack Shield profile in 9mm Luger.
Controls and safety features include a manual left-side thumb safety, a top-mounted loaded-chamber indicator, a two-piece hinged safety trigger, and a sear deactivation lever. The slide carries rear fish-scale serrations for traction.
Sights are stainless, dovetailed three-dot units: a white-dot front and a two-dot rear. The striker-fired action keeps controls simple while maintaining a consistent trigger pull.
Capacity is 8+1 with the included magazines. This pistol is made in the USA and ships with two 8-round and one 7-round factory S&W magazines, plus a leather IWB holster to round out the carry-ready setup.
