The M&P45 Shield delivers .45 ACP performance in a compact, carry-friendly form. At approximately 0.99 inches wide and 20.5 ounces unloaded, it maintains a slim profile without sacrificing shootability. The stainless steel barrel and slide wear Smith & Wesson’s black Armornite finish for corrosion resistance and durability.
Controls and safeties are streamlined for defensive use. This model is striker-fired with a short-recoil, locked-breech system, and it omits the manual thumb safety. Safety features include a hinged trigger safety, an internal striker block, and a sear deactivation system.
