This Special Forces model is a true full-size 1911 platform with a 5-inch bushing barrel and single-action operation. It is chambered in .45 ACP with an 8+1 capacity, delivering classic Government-length proportions and controls designed for confident handling.
The original slide was swapped for a later Ed Brown slide that has been milled for a Trijicon RMR footprint. A cover/adapter plate is installed. The slide features front and rear cocking serrations, a lowered and flared ejection port, and a round-top profile, finished in matte silver for a purposeful two-tone look over the black frame.
Sight setup is iron sights: a Trijicon-marked front blade paired with a plain black rear sight. This arrangement maintains a clean, snag-resistant sight picture while accommodating the slide cut.
The steel frame is finished in black and includes Ed Brown’s Chainlink texturing on the frontstrap and flat mainspring housing for secure purchase. An ambidextrous thumb safety, grip safety, long 3-hole trigger, and skeletonized Commander hammer round out the controls. Additional details include a beveled magazine well and a checkered recoil spring plug.
Notable markings include the barrel hood marked "ED BROWN 45 ACP," a bushing marked "BROWN," and a frame rollmark "Ed Brown Products, Perry, MO USA." Made in the USA, this two-tone Special Forces brings together custom slide work with hallmark Ed Brown fit and features.
