The Performance Center configuration pairs a 5-inch steel barrel with matching slide porting to complement the .40 S&W chambering. The slide also incorporates lightening windows and both front and rear cocking serrations, with an Armornite finish for durability. Slide markings include M&P 40, Performance Center, and M2.0, while the barrel hood is marked .40 S&W.
The C.O.R.E. optics-cut slide arrives with the cover plate installed and uses the included Smith & Wesson adapter plate kit for mounting compatible pistol optics. Tall, fixed iron sights provide an optic-height sight picture.
Controls include ambidextrous slide stop levers and no manual thumb safety. A Picatinny accessory rail is integrated into the polymer frame for lights or other accessories.
The M2.0 textured polymer grip uses interchangeable palm-swell backstraps (set of three included) to fine-tune hand fit. The pistol is striker-fired with a hinged trigger and is configured as a full-size model.
Capacity is 17+1 rounds in .40 S&W, and one 17-round steel magazine is included.
