The SL configuration denotes the all-stainless steel build, with both the frame and slide finished in brushed stainless. The slide top is serrated to reduce glare, and the pistol retains an exposed spurred hammer. Wraparound rubber grips with finger grooves provide a secure, consistent hold.
It uses a straight-blowback operating system with a fixed 3.6 in stainless barrel, paired to a DA/SA trigger and a decocking lever. There is no manual safety. The single-column magazines provide a 7+1 capacity in .380 ACP, appropriate for the pistol's compact size.
The sights are fixed, dovetailed 3-dot night sights marked MH3 AM at the front and rear. These factory-installed night sights complement the P232's clean sight picture and compact profile.
