This LC9 is the original hammer-fired version (not LC9s/EC9s) with a double-action-only, single-strike trigger and an internal hammer. It uses a locked-breech, tilting-barrel short-recoil operating system for 9mm Luger. Safety features include a manual thumb safety, a top-mounted loaded-chamber indicator, a magazine disconnect, and an internal lock.
The slide and barrel are through-hardened alloy steel with a blued finish, paired to a black glass-filled nylon frame and an aluminum subframe insert. The slide is marked "RUGER - PRESCOTT, AZ - USA" and the loaded-chamber indicator is marked "LOADED WHEN UP." The case label (Model 03200, UPC) matches the pistol. This example was manufactured in 2011.
Dimensions are compact and carry-friendly: approximately 0.90 in width, 3.12 in barrel length, 6.0 in overall length, and 4.5 in height, with an unloaded weight of about 17.1 oz. Capacity is 7+1 using the included single-stack magazines.
Sight setup is straightforward and durable with fixed 3-dot steel sights and a drift-adjustable rear. The slide features angled rear cocking serrations and dovetailed sight cuts, along with the top-mounted loaded-chamber indicator. The installed Crimson Trace triggerguard-mounted red laser adds an additional aiming option.
