This M&P15-22 Sport uses a semi-automatic blowback system and AR-style controls, including an AR-style charging handle and a manual safety. The polymer receiver keeps weight to about 5.0 lb while maintaining familiar ergonomics for training or rimfire use. A last-round hold-open and proprietary S&W magazine interface support consistent handling.
The 16.5" carbon steel barrel is threaded and fitted with an A2 flash suppressor. This setup allows easy use of common A2-pattern muzzle devices while preserving the rifle’s compact, handy profile.
A slim, free-float M-LOK handguard (approximately 10") provides modern accessory mounting surfaces. The flat-top upper with a full-length Picatinny rail offers a broad mounting plane for sighting equipment, and the factory polymer flip-up front and rear sights are installed and ready for use.
The 6-position collapsible stock supports a 10.0" length of pull, with an overall length that adjusts from approximately 30.7" to 33.75". An A2-pattern polymer pistol grip complements the matte black finish across the receiver and furniture.
