The Performance Center configuration features a 6-inch carbon-fiber–sleeved target barrel paired with a spiral-ported muzzle brake. This setup provides a distinctive target profile and reduced forward weight compared to traditional steel-sleeved designs.
The pistol uses a blowback-operated action with an open-top ejection port and a reciprocating bolt. The frame and receiver are stainless steel with a matte stainless finish, and the pistol bears Performance Center engraving with S&W logos.
A flat-faced, target-style trigger is fitted and offers user-adjustable take-up and overtravel. Controls include a manual thumb safety. The grip frame wears Tandemkross hiveGrip wrap-around rubber grips with a honeycomb texture for a secure, comfortable hold.
A full-length top Picatinny rail is installed for mounting as desired, and there is no front sight present. Capacity is 10+1, and this pistol includes two factory 10-round steel magazines.
