The XD-9 Service Model is a full-size, striker-fired 9mm with a 4-inch forged steel barrel and a Melonite nitrocarburized slide in black. Its polymer frame keeps weight manageable while delivering durability for regular use.
Controls and safety features are comprehensive and user-friendly. It includes an ambidextrous magazine release, a grip safety, a trigger safety with an integral blade, and both a loaded-chamber indicator and a striker-status indicator.
The slide is equipped with front and rear serrations, an external extractor, and the same loaded-chamber and striker-status indicators for quick status checks. Fixed 3-dot steel sights (white front dot, two white rear dots) provide a clear, consistent sight picture.
An integral accessory rail with two cross-slots is molded into the frame. The pistol is manufactured by HS Produkt in Croatia and imported/marketed by Springfield Armory, with corresponding marks present. Capacity is 10+1 rounds, and two 10-round magazines are included. The barrel uses a 1:10 twist.
