The MK IV/Series 80 Government Model .380 is a compact, SAO, short-recoil, locked-breech design that scales the familiar 1911 format to .380 ACP. It uses a 3.25-inch barrel, measures approximately 6.5 inches overall, and weighs about 21.75 ounces, with a 7+1 capacity.
This pistol incorporates Series 80 safety features, including a firing-pin block, a manual thumb safety, and a disconnector. It does not use a grip safety, and it wears a rowel (Commander-style) spur hammer.
The slide has rear vertical serrations and fixed sights, with a front blade and a square-notch rear. The frame and slide carry a silver finish, complemented by black checkered synthetic grips with Colt medallions for secure purchase and a classic Colt look.
Internally, it retains a traditional 1911-style barrel bushing and separate recoil plug, paired with a dual recoil-spring assembly. This setup supports the compact .380 format while preserving hallmark 1911 assembly elements.
Made in the United States in 1993, this Government Model .380 comes ready with two 7-round magazines and a Bulldog nylon belt-clip holster.
