This Shield Plus is the Thumb Safety variant, featuring bilateral manual thumb-safety levers and a striker-fired action. The flat-faced trigger with a safety blade is the Shield Plus design, providing a consistent trigger feel paired with a push-button magazine release and the S&W sear deactivation/takedown system.
The 3.125-inch stainless steel barrel and stainless slide are treated with Smith & Wesson’s Armornite finish. The barrel uses 5R rifling with a 1:10 twist, and the slide carries practical front and rear serrations for confident manipulation.
Tritium night sights are installed: a dovetail front and rear set marked TG-H3 in a 3-dot configuration. These steel sights provide a clear, durable aiming reference in varied light conditions and are a notable upgrade on this pistol.
