The Trophy Match configuration centers on accuracy and control. It features a match-grade, government-length 5-inch barrel paired with a fitted bushing and a 1:16 twist. The slide is marked "TROPHY MATCH CAL .45" and carries the trophy-cup "NM" and crossed-cannons crest. A flattened, longitudinally serrated slide top reduces glare, while front and rear cocking serrations aid manipulation. The ejection port is lowered and flared for reliable case clearance.
The stainless steel frame and slide present brushed flats with bead-blasted rounds, giving a purposeful two-texture finish. The front strap and mainspring housing are checkered, and the frame is equipped with a wide-mouth, flared magazine well to speed reloads. Checkered hardwood stocks with a laser-etched Springfield Armory crossed-cannons logo provide a secure, classic grip.
Controls are set up for precise operation. The long, three-hole skeletonized trigger includes an overtravel screw, and the skeletonized Commander-style hammer works with an extended beavertail grip safety featuring a memory bump. An ambidextrous thumb safety and a checkered magazine release complete the control scheme.
Target sighting equipment includes a fully adjustable rear target sight and a dovetailed black front blade. As a full-size, single-action 1911 in .45 ACP, factory specs list weight at about 41 oz. Capacity is 7+1 with the included 7-round magazines.
