The Model 37’s bottom-loading, bottom-ejecting design keeps spent shells directed away and maintains a clean receiver opening. It is chambered for 2.75-inch shells and feeds from a tubular magazine with a 4+1 capacity. Controls include a cross-bolt safety at the rear of the trigger guard and an action release at the front-left.
The 28-inch barrel carries a ventilated, serrated rib for an uncluttered sighting plane, paired with a mid-bead and an orange front bead. The barrel is marked "ROTO FORGED," denoting Ithaca’s cold-hammer-forged process, and shows "PROOF TESTED" and an anvil logo on the barrel.
Field service is straightforward thanks to the quick takedown system that uses an interrupted-thread interface and a knurled magazine cap. The steel receiver provides a solid foundation while keeping the classic Featherlight profile and balance.
Walnut furniture includes a beavertail forend and a pistol-grip stock with cut checkering, fleur-de-lis accents, an Ithaca grip cap, and a hard buttplate. Factory roll-engraved game scenes highlight the receiver: waterfowl over a marsh on the right side and a pointing dog with flushing pheasants on the left.
Made in the United States in 1970 and part of the Featherlight series, this full-size field shotgun reflects Ithaca’s long-running Model 37 design with practical features and refined field styling.
