This 2018 Ruger AR-556 is a USA-made, AR-15–pattern carbine configured with practical upgrades and proven materials. It features a 16.10 inch cold hammer-forged 4140 chrome-moly steel barrel with a 1:8 RH twist and M4 feed ramps, a forged 7075-T6 aluminum receiver set with Type III hard-coat anodizing, and a flat-top upper with Picatinny rail. Notable custom touches include a Hogue 6-position stock and an aftermarket polymer drop-in handguard with top and bottom rails.
Condition
Overall Condition: Good condition, showing some signs of prior use and handling.
Bore Condition: Excellent - Clean, mirror finish, no signs of wear.
Bore Rifling: Excellent Rifling - Sharp lands and grooves.
Specific Condition Notes: There are several scratches, including a significant one on the upper receiver near the rear of the Picatinny rail. The exterior of the barrel presents in great shape.

The rifle runs a carbine-length gas system with a direct impingement action, keeping the handling true to the AR-15 platform. The receiver set is forged from 7075-T6 aluminum and finished in Type III hard-coat anodize, with a flat-top upper that includes a forward assist and ejection-port cover. The Ruger Mayodan, NC USA rollmark and AR-556 model marking are present.
The 16.10 inch barrel is 4140 chrome-moly steel and cold hammer forged, with a 1:8 RH twist to stabilize a broad range of 5.56mm projectiles. M4 feed ramps are cut into the barrel extension, and the muzzle is threaded 1/2-28 with an A2 birdcage flash suppressor.
Sighting is set up with a fixed, pinned A2-type front sight base that incorporates a sling loop and bayonet lug area. The flat-top upper provides a continuous Picatinny rail; no rear sight is included.
This example is customized with a Hogue 6-position collapsible stock featuring a rubber buttpad (length of pull 14.0 inches) and an aftermarket carbine-length, two-piece polymer drop-in handguard with integral 12 and 6 o'clock Picatinny rails. A manual safety is present. Capacity is 30+1, and one 30-round USGI-pattern aluminum magazine is included.
