This Magnum Research MLR-1722M from the Magnum Lite series is a semi-automatic .22 WMR built around a lightweight carbon/graphite-sleeved bull barrel and a one-piece aluminum receiver. It uses a gas-assisted blowback system tuned for .22 WMR and features an integrally machined Picatinny/Weaver-type scope rail. The Hogue OverMolded stock, cross-bolt safety, and WMR-specific heavy bolt handle round out a purpose-built rimfire designed and made in the USA.

The MLR-1722M is chambered in .22 WMR and uses a gas-assisted blowback system engineered specifically for this cartridge. Its action type, safety layout, and controls are designed for reliable rimfire operation with magnum loads.
It wears a 19 in carbon/graphite-sleeved bull barrel with a stainless breech section and a recessed target crown. The barrel is non-threaded. The receiver is a one-piece aluminum design with an integrally machined Picatinny/Weaver-type scope rail, and the rifle is configured with no iron sights.
Handling features include a WMR-specific heavy bolt handle with a polished, barrel-shaped knob, a cross-bolt safety, and a manual bolt lock. The black Hogue OverMolded synthetic stock provides a pebble-textured grip surface, a Hogue buttpad, and sling swivel studs. Length of pull is 13.6 in.
Fit and finish are matte gray/graphite, with markings that include "MADE IN USA," "MAGNUM RESEARCH," and "Mpl's MN." The rifle uses a Ruger-type detachable rotary magazine interface; for .22 WMR models, Magnum Research (MRI) magazines are required.
