The Model 24-3 configuration here pairs a compact 3-inch barrel with a partial underlug and ejector-rod shroud, combining a classic .44 Special chambering with practical carry-length proportions. The round-butt grip frame complements the 3-inch profile, and the grooved topstrap provides a clean sighting plane.
Sighting equipment includes a pinned red-ramp front matched to an S&W micrometer-adjustable rear. Controls are traditional S&W with a smooth-faced trigger and an exposed, checkered hammer spur for DA/SA operation.
The revolver wears a matte silver finish across its steel frame and cylinder. Factory markings remain clear, with the yoke cut marked "MOD. 24-3," and rollmarks present on the barrel and frame along with the S&W circular logo.
Aftermarket Pachmayr Compac rubber grips are installed and expose the serial area through the grip cutout. The revolver shows no internal key lock visible.
