The P232 SL uses all-stainless construction for both slide and frame, dressed in a uniform satin stainless finish. It carries German proof and inspection marks and is marked MADE IN GERMANY, with import attribution to SIG Sauer Inc., Exeter, NH. The slide is roll-marked "SIG SAUER P232" and "9 mm Kurz."
Its fixed-barrel, straight-blowback operating system pairs with DA/SA trigger operation and a decocker. Safety features include an internal firing pin safety and a visual/tactile loaded-chamber indicator via the extractor’s red tab. The design omits an external slide stop and uses an exposed, spurred hammer.
Controls and handling details include a heel-style magazine release and wrap-around finger-groove rubber grips. The slide features top anti-glare serrations and rear grasping grooves for confident manipulation.
Sighting equipment consists of fixed 3-dot sights: a pinned post front with single dot and a square-notch rear with two dots. Chambered in .380 ACP with an 8+1 capacity and a 3.6 inch barrel, this compact package delivers the hallmark P232 profile in stainless steel.
The model has been discontinued, with U.S. importation ending in 2014. This 2010 example presents cleanly, with light handling evidence, and includes two factory magazines, the original hard case, and gun oil.
