LMT Defender 2000 5.56mm NATO AR-15 Carbine, 16 inch M4-Profile, MP 1:7 Barrel, MI Quad-Rail, A2 Front Sight
This LMT Defender 2000 is a U.S.-made 5.56mm NATO AR-15 carbine built around a 16-inch M4-profile, magnetic particle inspected barrel with a 1:7 RH twist. It features a flat-top T-marked Picatinny upper, an A2 front sight base with bayonet lug and sling swivel, and thoughtful upgrades including a Midwest Industries carbine-length quad-rail, angled foregrip, and a Hogue OverMolded-style overmolded rubber pistol grip with beavertail, pronounced finger grooves, and a palm swell. The bore is excellent, and the rifle retains its LMT-branded 6-position telescoping stock.

The 16-inch M4-profile barrel is marked "MP 5.56 NATO 1/7 CB" and uses a direct impingement gas system. It is fitted with an A2 flash suppressor and a fixed A2 front sight base that includes a bayonet lug and sling swivel. The barrel is threaded and magnetic particle inspected.
The upper receiver is a flat-top, T-marked Picatinny design, providing a continuous rail surface. Receiver markings read LMT with Milan, IL USA. The rifle uses standard STANAG magazine interface and includes a manual safety selector.
Factory furniture includes an LMT-branded 6-position telescoping stock in black polymer. The pistol grip has been upgraded to a Hogue OverMolded-style overmolded rubber design with a beavertail, pronounced finger grooves, and a palm swell for a secure hold.
Customization centers on a Midwest Industries carbine-length, two-piece quad-rail handguard with T-marked rails, paired with an angled foregrip. Sighting is handled by a fixed A2 front sight and a folding rear BUIS. Capacity is 30+1 with the included 30-round magazine.
